Does this sound like you?

  • You’ve hit a plateau in your climbing and have no idea what’s causing it.

  • Your gym sessions are a bit aimless. You have fun, but leave without knowing if you’ve actually improved your climbing.

  • You receive conflicting advice, leaving you with more options but no clear direction.

  • Your friends seem to continue improving while you’ve been stuck at the same grade.

  • You have a busy schedule, and can’t fit in more time for training.

  • You don’t know what to focus on when you’re at the gym.

  • Your default solution is more finger strength.

Don’t worry, you’re not alone.

My friends are all stronger than me.

There, I said it.

They pull harder. They endure longer. They send faster.

I started climbing at age 34. Many of my friends started when they were young and had already spent more than a decade developing their strength, power, and endurance.

I knew I wasn’t going to make up for that physical head start overnight.

But being the weakest one in the group also made me the most motivated to improve.

This forced me to think differently about what determines how hard someone can climb.

I began to see every climber’s ability as made up of two things: capacity and performance.

Capacity is your physical potential. It includes qualities such as your finger strength, pulling power, and endurance.

Performance is how much of that capacity you can actually use on the wall. It is determined by your movement efficiency, decision-making, strategy, and ability to execute when it matters.

Like most climbers, I assumed the only way to climb harder was to increase my capacity - stronger fingers, better power, more endurance.

And while those things mattered, making physical gains my only focus often led to aches, tweaks, and setbacks.

I realized that increasing capacity is a long term investment—and while I built that up steadily, there were other ways I could improve quickly.

I could work on my performance and make better use of the capacity I already had.

So I focused on making smarter attempts, moving more efficiently, identifying my weaknesses and executing as perfectly as I could.

The result?

I sent my hardest route before several of my stronger friends.

When I coach clients, I don’t begin by assuming they need to get stronger. I begin by looking at how effectively they use the ability they already have.

Then I identify the source of the gap—whether it’s inefficient movement, poor decision-making, ineffective strategy or a genuine physical limitation.

Sometimes it’s a small adjustment on something they weren’t aware of.

“I just did a quick trip to the gym to try out the tips you gave me and MY OH MY! I sent the V3 and got to the next moves in the V5, both on the FIRST TRY! I was in awe of the immediate impact to my climbing and couldn’t stop smiling.”

That was from one of my clients.

In between getting my feedback and going to the gym, his capacity hadn’t changed.

His performance had.

Once he understood what was actually preventing him from succeeding—and what to do differently—he was immediately able to access more of the ability he already possessed.

Most climbers hit plateaus not because they lack effort, but because they lack direction.

Like a ship traveling slightly off course, they can continue pushing forward while gradually moving farther from their intended destination.

More effort won’t correct the direction. It only takes them farther down the wrong path.

Another generic training program may give them more work to do—but it won’t necessarily give them the right work.

They need someone who can identify the specific reason they are stuck, determine what deserves their attention and give them a clear prescription for improving it.

That is why I created The 30-Day Climbing Blueprint.

I diagnose what is truly holding you back and show you how to turn more of your existing capacity into performance on the wall.

For 30 focused days, you’ll stop guessing and start training in the right direction—with one goal: break through your plateau and climb your next grade.

The Climbing Blueprint

See what you can't see

See what you can’t see.

When you’re on the wall, your attention is on holding on, finding the next move, and trying not to fall.

That makes it difficult to see your own movement objectively.

The Climbing Audit gives you an outside perspective. I’ll examine your Footwork, Body Positioning, Tension, Dynamics, and Flow to identify the patterns connecting your attempts—and pinpoint what’s actually limiting you.

It’s a prioritized explanation of what you’re doing well, where your movement is breaking down, and which changes will make the greatest difference.

How It Works

STEP 1—Submit Two Climbing Clips

Send two separate clips of your climbing that show your movement on the wall.

STEP 2Get Your Movement Analyzed

I assess your Footwork, Body Positioning, Tension, Dynamics, Flow, and Climbing IQ across both clips.

STEP 3Receive and Apply Your Feedback

Take clear movement corrections, cues, and prescribed drills into your next sessions.

STEP 4Level Up Your Climbing

Build better movement patterns, make smarter decisions, and become a more skilled climber.
